We have a large proportion of elderly person in the blind population. Most of them belong too economically and socially backward section of our society. Some of them remain single in their life and generally have no income and family of their own to support them in their old age. They need physical and emotional support.
NAB-Delhi
runs a comfortable home for some of these elderly blind men and women at Narela. Once they
enter our home, their requirements of everyday living become our responsibility. Their
food, stay, washing of clothes, hair cutting, postage services and even their personal
care are attended by us. These facilities are available Free of Cost to those without any
income and on subsidized basis for those who can contribute a small amount. Elderly blind
men above the age of 60 years and blind women above the age of 55 years are entitled to
the NAB's monthly pension scheme of Rs.100/-. |
