COMPUTER TRAINING AND TECHNOLOGY CENTRE :

With the advent of Text to Speech Technology computers have become accessible too persons with vision impairment. Here in the Centre, we have computer work stations where blind students undergo training in Windows, Word Processing, Internet, E-mail, Spread-Sheets, etc. With the help of computers with speech synthesizers, students with vision impairment doing higher studies, are becoming independent in all there reading and writing needs.

COMPUTER LAB

Special classes on computers are also held for blind and low vision students of integrated education programme. The Computer Centre works as collaborators and beta testers for the projects of educational and research institutes engaged in developing hardware and software for blind persons. This is with goal of making the technology affordable and easily available. We also provide opportunities to blind persons to get hands on experience of latest technology. Computer literacy is giving the blind and low vision person’s new professional opportunities, enhancing their status at their present jobs, and also giving them additional proficiency and confidence at work

Cisco Certification for Network Administration

Now opens up for Persons with Blindness or Low vision in India Every small and large office depends heavily on computer networks. Network administration is one the major employment stream in the IT industry. Network administration an area where persons with blindness or low vision can perform as good as persons with normal vision. Cisco Certification in Network Administration (CCNA) is a well recognize degree in the area of Network Administration. The CCNA Certification can make a person employable in private and public sector offices as Network administrators. National Association for the Blind, Delhi State Branch and Enable India Trust, Bangalore, are the premier IT Training Institutes for persons with blindness in India. Both these organizations bring the CCNA Certification Training Programme in India for persons with blindness in Collaboration with Curtin University, Australia, Cisco India and Saksham Trust.

WHO CAN JOIN

Any person with blindness and low vision who has passed class 10th examination can join this course. It is essential that the student should be efficient in operating the PC with the help of Screen Reading Software. The students will the required to work on the word processing software and the web browser (Internet Explorer) right from the beginning of the course.

CISCO Certification for Network Administration

NAB - HPS Interest free Loan Scheme

Computer purchase loan scheme initiated with the assistance of the HPS Social welfare Foundation has yielded excellent results. This scheme has added so much meaning to our training efforts since the trained persons have an option to make use of the technology and the skill that they pick up at the NAB TTC. Trainees are given a loan of up to Rs. 50,000/- for purchasing Computer hardware and related tools. The loan amount is repaid by the beneficiaries in 18 equal monthly interest free instalments.
